Born with no gender petit shinigami was supposed to take the gender of its first parent to die. Unfortunately its parents died together in their burning home leaving Petit parentless and no where to go. The newly appointed Dream Emperor took Petit under his wing (for his own private reasons) and that's when Petit had its name changed to Mung Ying.

Mung Ying became a female, opposite to her new master the Dream Emperor but he has other intentions and requests that MY take on a more masculine figure....and that's what she did...
