Yori is the son of a powerful warlord in feudal japan. on his eighteenth birthday he uncovered many evil and dishonorable and cruel things his father had been doing to take control of less powerful warlords' land. Yori ran away from home, refusing to be a partof his father's evil deeds. He soon met up with Ina Senshin, a young sixteen year old girl who had also run away from home but for different reasons, and Cho Teko, a blind Chinese buddhist priest who accidentally wandered into Japan while trying to escape the clutches of an extremist religous sect.
