McMoon decends from the royal family of Kamek. He comes from the Eastern islands of Magikoopa Isle, off of the coast of the Koopa Kingdom, ruled by the tyrant King Bowser Koopa. The Magikoopas of that island formed a whole force against the King and his colony, being of course much stronger than the King when joined forces. Therefore, King Bowser ordered his Koopa army to destroy the island completely, in which they successfully did. McMoon managed to escape from the island, and moved to the coast of a better place, Yoshi's Island, on a smaller island nearby, where him and the other Magikoopas formed a new lifestyle, away from the evil Koopa empire.
McMoon only thinks about trying to be the best, and the safety of everyone. He often becomes snoody and arrogant, but keeps his wise cool for the most part. He gets angered very easily, especially when called an old man, or weak. He spends all of his time studying or looking up his past and the history of the island.
