After her unfortunate death soon after her 18th birthday, Tes's soul was stolen by a sick cat wizard named Kal, who trapped Tes's soul into a neko body. For less than a year, Tes stayed with several other female neko slaves with absolutely nothing to do. ... I don't really need to explain what happened there, do I? I don't? Good.

One day, a seer came to visit Kal. When the seer first laid eyes on Kal, he knew that there was a powerful spirit dormant within him... Kal soon called Tes in to bring the seer something to drink. The seer's eyes widened at her and he quickly told Kal how she was "the one".

"She will lead you to victory!" the seer predicted once Tes had left the room. "But she is missing her partner... Only when together can they aid you."

Something inside of Kal snapped that day. He sent Tes to Earth to find her partner - which ended up being the only living human who could see her.

After 15-or-so years of searching, Tes found Tay.

Kal did some mighty strange things soon afterward, which eventually led Tes and Tay to the Neverhood. But why here? Something about Kal wasn't right...

Tes was originally meant to trick Tay into Kal's plans, but eventually grew close to Tay and began to help her through the problems Kal started, and maybe help her choose which path is right...
