Hans was born on Austria’s National Holiday, October 26th, in the city of Salzburg. Although he had much pride in his country, Hans was more interested in the happenings in North America. He would stay up until the early hours of the morning just to watch the American version of MTV that was shown on European MTV late at night and into the early morning. Most of his classmates thought him an especially odd giraffe, and he was left out of most everything in his elementary years. But once he hit Junior and High School, Hans suddenly got a lot of attention. Although he didn’t understand why, Hans was suddenly always surrounded by his classmates. Being a very Melancholy individual, Hans did not enjoy the attention. He would spend many hours in the library listening to his walkman and reading up on different topics that were quite strange for a young giraffe to be looking into. He studied many about many personality disorders and depression, he also studied up on how Pop culture was causing depression and eating disorders related to the media and advertising involved.

In 1993 Hans found himself in college and deep in depression, his many years of studying gloomy topics, keeping to himself, and dwelling in dark thoughts had taken a toll on this young giraffe. Hoping to get out of his funk and find a true way to express himself, Hans started a band with a few college friends that he managed to have a relationship with. Their band was something to do, but they never did make it big.

Still needing something new and full-filling in his dreary life, Hans dropped out of college and flew to North America in 1995. To his disgust, Hans found that even more so than Austria, a large percentage of the market was based around pop culture, his arch enemy. Coming home to his new apartment the distant sounds of a band practising caught Hans’ attention. Following the sound to the basement of the nearby instrument store, Hans found himself in the middle of a heated argument between a young Misty Kitty and a large bear, the drummer from Clamor. Stepping into the argument after the bear struck Misty Kitty, Hans broke up the fight and watched angrily as the bear stormed off. Soon after, Hans found himself drummer for Clamor.
