... So they came up with this one instead. With the Shield being front and centre of the ident, the focus was on the top part, acting as a beacon of bright and colourful bits of entertainment.

Still, the ABC name finally disappeared in 2002 in place for ITV1, as former regions now took their weekday contractors' names instead.
