Lord of the Dance
Lord of the Dance by @lynne (Lynne)

This is my birthday picture for KidK. I wanted to make her a picture because I was grateful to her for being the only person close to me who stuck around and tried to support me through a really long awful time. It is a lot to ask someone to weather a prolonged storm of unpleasantness, and it is true friends who are willing to weather that for someone, and so.. I wanted to make her a picture just to express that I am grateful for that.

The picture was partly.. Viva's idea.. he was grateful for the same thing because he himself was so often not able to help and I needed someone outside of my whirlwinded confused head. He too is very grateful that she stayed when I most needed someone, and so we sort of one day, when I was in Seattle for my test, came up with a picture idea and started drawing it. We decided that I would draw the picture and he would play the violin in it for her and Zim as they danced.

We picked upon the tune 'Lord of the Dance'. I think Rossi wanted to extend the good favor.. since she was so kind in being there for me and him, he was wanting to express that there is also Someone there for her and Zim, who loves them very much (don't blame him for being preachy, he does it out of love). I was playing the fiddle tune, Lord of the Dance, and started singing the Shaker hymn words, and those were the theme that we thought was good for the picture to have... sort of, that even people who are not 'godly' or not Christians or not spiritual are still God's children and loved by Him and thus, are called to dance, whomever they may be. To dance is to live and love and isn't that what we were made for?

Um, so that's the idea explained. It sounds preachy to me now, but I thought it was a beautiful idea at the time..

So anyway, happy birthday KidK, and again thank you very much from both of us.
