Sailing at Sundown
Sailing at Sundown by @katemalc (Kate Malcolm)

Gotta love it. Sailing is also one of my other hobbies. ON tuesdays my father and I go out and we race. In the fall the races can last past sundown so you get these absolutly gorgeous picture perfect shots of a sailboat siluetted by the sun. But it figures my camera cant take shots into the sun so I did the next best thing, I drew it. Kinda looks like I did it with oil paints doesn't it? But be amazed. Entirly on computer. For me it turned out amazing. I should try doing some more stuff like this. Simple shots sketched and coloured entirly on computer. Artwork © Copyright 2002 Kate Malcolm

This is really nice. :) I think my fave part's the water. I kinda see an imbalance of hard edges vs. soft edges (right now, some things are mushy that should be sharp, and some things are sharp that should be less defined--like the bottom of the boat, I think)...but if this is your first try? Then, man, you are on the RIGHT. TRACK. Go you.

If you like this style of digital art, might I suggest you go visit www.gorblimey.com , and a forum called "EbonyKeep" ? They've a tonne of great artists and tutorials who do this sort of art. It's GREAT! :D

Keep it up!
