'Perfect' Picture
'Perfect' Picture by @KarmaSlave (Samantha Nowinski)

It's a nice day, and posing for a picture, a man puts his arm around his girl...well...at least he thinks he's his girl. She doesn't look very happy in the picture...I don't know who these two are! I'll come up with some plot, and names for them... Artwork © Copyright 2002 Samantha Nowinski

You did well on body language and facial expressions in this piece. Each's mood and personality is made apparent. The male Irken gives the impression that he's quite the cocky and arrogant one; pretty much full of himself. Having him pose with a weapon helps add to this. Next to him, the female Irken does give off the sense of unhappiness. It's like she's forced into standing there with him, and totally wishes to be elsewhere, but goes along with it for some reason. The placing of his arm around her and her hand on him kind of represents her trying to push away from him and him trying trying to hold on. I notice that, depart from your other works I've seen, you wasn't in a rush to draw the feet in this one. The feet is one of the usual problem areas of many artist, but you did fine here. With the heels together and feet pointed in a 45 degree angle, is a good idea for a Irken related work. It expresses the military-type theme of the Irken Empire, either it be the Invaders, your Peacemakers or Death Irkens. I also like the one-button fashion of coats you gave them and the markings on the man's forehead - quite stylish. If you're determined enough and spend enough time at it, I'm sure you can make something of this talent like with your writing. I see potential, despite what anyone else says. Keep it up, sister.
