Or a possible alternate title: "And now for something completely different".

Made sometime last year, after telling myself during a class: "I really want to try making an image that looks like it's been made in a vector program."

However, I had no vector-based programs at the time. I had to make do with Photoshop 5.0, so it's really just a faux-vector image. Not that I'd have wanted to try making such a thing in a true vector program, given that I've tried using Illustrator before and had quite a time trying to make things look decent.

Inspired by several things, such as the browser of the same name, and the idea of foxes and kitsune spirits in general. Also inspired by thinking that I should try to escape using lineart, since I know that's one thing I rely on far too heavily in some pictures.

Lovely image. You certainly captured the vector look here, and I really like the effects of the gradients in the background. The image has a great composition and focus and the colours work very well together. Of note - even if you just paint with the paintbrush in vector-based programs, it's still vector based and is thus infinitely complex, even though it may look like it was made in a standard bitmap-based program. Also of note - I just learned that images made using this method, using vector-based tools in a bitmap-based program, is known as "vexel." Learn something new every day, eh?

Cool picture! I like the colors, it looks like it`s going or falling through tube. It reminds me of Star Fox, I like it - great job! ^_~

This is simple, yet very pretty. I love the colors and the flaming tail. Great work!

Simple, but very well executed design. I like the use of gradients, really pulls the image together. Great job! :D
