Self-Portrait with a Teddy Bear
Self-Portrait with a Teddy Bear by @Anrui (Jessica Holden)

It's not exactly entirely completed, but finished enough for now to upload. There are still a few things I need to fix (such as the knee that doesn't really look like a knee) and the lack of background. Any suggestions are welcome.

I really love the texture of the bear and shawl, and it was surprisingly easy to do. I was dreading it for so long, and when I finally got around to it I completed those sections quite quickly and easily. Nothing at all like trying to render the texture of crushed velvet, as in my last self portrait, and it was certainly easier than the painstaking work I put into that glass.

I love the look of the dress, and am so glad it turned out alright. I left it for last because it's so hard to draw drapery that you're wearing, especially when it's so complex. I didn't get it exactly right, and mostly just tried to give an impression of the folds, but I think it works. Next time I do such complex drapery someone else will be wearing it, or I'll have a picture taken so I don't have to worry about movement.

I'm really proud of the teddy bear. I was so worried it wouldn't look right because I'm not very good at drawing fur. It turned out looking very adorable, I think.

Serious critiques are encouraged, but I welcome any comments and suggestions on where to go next.

The dress is BEAUTIFUL. The bear does look nice! Shawl is nice too but i think its' the shaded shawl area that lost a bit of texture ^^ I THINK that the hand is somewhat too big in proportion.

I love the eyes and overall I like this picture =D

Do you still have this laying around? I'd love to see it complete... ♥
