Vicarious, Champion Warmblood
Vicarious, Champion Warmblood by @Malvado (Kyle Lawrence)

More marker experimentation with the "VHR grey" background added in Photoshop. This is an illustration of VHR's first Blue Eyed Buckskin Pinto, a grade Warmblood stallion who is currently very dominant in Dressage competitions. I'm hoping he takes the record for WnW-bred lifetime earnings. :)

The musculature on your horses is very well portrayed, as is the colouring. The smoothness of the markings is commendable, especially considering it was done with markers. I also really like the shading on the tail and mane. The head and neck look a little big for the body on this one and its forearm seems a bit long for the cannon, but otherwise nicely done. I like the movement in the pose and the blue eye is really striking.

Thanks so much! :D Yeah, I really botched the proportions on his foreleg...I didn't notice until after I inked. The overlong head and thick neck were on purpose though. :) I love loooong heads on horses of his build, so I tend to overexaggerate. I patterned the overly thick and cresty neck after some stallions and late-gelded geldings I've known...some of them grew some immensely thick and bulky necks. :) Then again they usually also got huge jowls, which I sorta left off. May have to add those in next time.
