Wow thanks for the excellent advice and comment XD That was really helpful! Thank you!
Rhea by @Ashwings (Jenny Romanchuk)
The background...is...yuck >_< I got photoshop 7 today and I'm going to install it later on--gah, hopefully my stuff will improve with the new program--blah then I have to start from square one again and re-learn stuff...so don't expect anything too spectacular. I'm praying that my comp won't blow up either...
This is the main character in my novel--here she looks rather peaceful and calm, wich is rare cuz--she's never like this, she is the rambunctious one. Enjoy this while it lasts. And there is Rhea's weapon...I might explain it's stuff later--right now, too lazy--too me forever and a day and many many concept sketches to get the sword exactly how I prercieve it in my mind >_<
I made the pic look softer so it would look like she was lying on the grass--not a flat picture that looks like she is hovering over it ¬_¬ which it still does...Blaaaaah.

Oh how pretty! I really like her outfit and the design of her sword, they're both very unique! You did a wonderful job with her pose too. It doesn't look like she's hovering above the ground at all, nor does it look awkward or uncomfortable. Kudoz!
The only thing that bothers me about this is the blurriness. I know you said you did that to make it look not so flat, but perhaps it's a bit too blurry? Also, if you sharpened the girl and the sword so that they weren't as blurry as the background, it would help to draw your eye to them more.
Other than that I see nothing wrong here. This is a beautiful pic, and it makes me wish summer was here so I could go fall asleep in a field like that too. ^^; Good luck with your new software!
