Very nice! I like how you made the light streaming through the door and casting shadows onto the floor. Excellent job there. You do a wonderful job coloring the hair and eyes on your characters. They're so shiny! =D I also like your rendering of the wood grain and night sky. Oh yeah, I like the design on her kimono too!

For improvements, I think you should up the contrast on the girl. Her skin and clothes look a bit flat to me. The tree in the background shouldn't be so green if it's night time. Maybe a darker tone would work, such as having a blue hue to it or something. I'm being picky here, but I think the girl should also have a blue-ish hue on her or a darker color since she's in the shadows. The colors wouldn't be so bright if she's standing in front of the light.

Other than that, I think you did a great job! Drawing backgrounds isn't easy. I'm still struggling with them. Hope to see more of your work! Keep it up! ^_^
