Orchid and the Unicorn
Orchid and the Unicorn by @vaia (V. Nicharico)

I labeled this as a work in progress because I seem to be perpetually fiddling with it.

This was the last piece I did of Orchid, and was based on a comment made by my little sister about Orchid being the most pure of all of Hell's demons...if there was such a thing.

The image is far more innocent than it looks, as that golden cord is actually a demon-symbiote itself...there is a story that goes with this piece...short, and not so sweet at all...but then, neither is she.

Drawn from photo references and scanned into Photoshop 5.5. It took roughly 6 hours from line to the image you see here.

Ohhhh... nice. Look at the unicorn, you actualy did it RIGHT, with the chin fur. Everyone cuts it out because they thing it looks weird, but they're supposed to have that, in my opinion. O_o But I digress.

The strand is nice, the story is self evident, and her lips are the sma color as her vest. Just thought I would slip that strange truth in the comment. ._.

Thank you ^.^

I think you're right that Unicorns should have that chin fur...it helps to set them apart from horses by more than just their horn...So many people think they're supposed to look like horses, and they're not really...shrug

I try to keep a pretty monochromatic color scheme to Orchid...her lips, her eyes and her gown are all the same color...I've always drawn her that way...I like to see it as it all being "a part of who she is", and the more the color scheme meshes, the more she comes to life in my opinion ^.^

Thanks so much for the lovely comment!

Yes, I think the matching looks rally cool. And the contrast on her skin is even more cool, makes her look different and stand out, you know? It's awsome.
