The Lone Howl
The Lone Howl by @EDavis (E. Davis)

Wooo, I'm proud of this one, and it only took me a whole day to finish! Gwee!

Dreska howls her sorrows out to the sky, with only her crow totem and the mountain to hear her sorrows.

I don't like the mountain. It be sucky. =( SUCKY. And I didn't make the crow's wings long enough. But oh well, Dresk came out all right.

A lot of emotion in that expression and pose. The markings are very catching and I love the shading, especially that shine on the hair. And personally, I like the mountain. Nice work all over.

Oh, you like the mountain? Thankee! ^^; That makes me feel better, knowing that it isn't just a jagged blob in the background. Thanks a bunch for your comment: it encourages me to keep working and made my day!

This is lovely - Dreska would not look out of place on a colour plate in an old heraldry textbook, she looks all glossy and regal. The mane also reminds me of heraldic mantling, and the red is all rich like you'd normally see on a coat of arms.

As I said, the shiny-ness is very well done, it makes her look more like a living animal. I'll second Jinx on the emotion thing, too - she looks anguished yet not as though she's about to give up.

The only thing that would improve it would be to add a little more shading on her body, to make it more consistent with the shadows on the ground, but if it was my picture I'd be too afraid to add any more for fear of messing it up. :) The shadows on the ground could be a little more 'spiky' because they're on grass, but that sounds hard to pull off too.

Thank you, Anna. Good to hear from you again, by the way! I'll keep your comments in mind for the future. Yes, I really need to work on my shading. As far as art goes, that happens to be my weak spot aside from frontal views. Gah, I need to work on that.

Ooo, wow, she is -very- pretty. I love her colors. Ironic that I just changed my character Kapiemete's colors recently, and they end up looking a little like these, e.e Stupid me. But she really does look prelly with the colors, I love her pose and expression. And the crow is great too ^^ Me cant draw those winged thingers... LOVELY job!
