mother and child
mother and child by @Chronicdoodler (Mary Huff)

Started as a concept sketch for new creatures, that turned into a very involved piece. Still haven't decided the names on what to call them. Artist notes: first attempt at using pen tools, and different colored lines. I rather like it , it gives the picture a kind of unreal look, which is perfect for my fantasy world. Also one of the first time I used a foreground before the subject and a enclosed dark background. Artwork © Copyright 2002 Mary Huff

I wish we actually HAD animals that vibrant and colorful on this planet. Well, we do actually, but I meant that I wished our woodland creatures looked like that...but then they wouldn't blend. You know what, forget it.

Still nice work. The colors are nice which is good since color is tremendously important. One question I have is what is that gray-ish shape to the left of the baby. I that another fantasy animal?
