In RE: CV, the hunters seem pretty tame around Wesker, and some people thought this was stupid. I thought it was cute, though, and this is my take on how he got them to follow orders, sit, shake, and not bite his hands off! Ada seems mystified by the hat Wesker is giving the one tadpole.
