TechTV sign-off - What do we do now? (2001)
TechTV sign-off - What do we do now? (2001) by @WestKnightTV (West Knight)

On August 16, 2001, TechTV in the US temporarily went off air for a week, after their founder-presenter was exposed of allowing inaccurate specifications of PC components to go on the air, instead of retesting the products, to ensure production efficiency.

Aside from that, the channel was under scrutiny of giving more favor to brands that collaborated with them in their merchandises, and openly criticizing a prototype cooler from a startup that they've tested in a wrong setting. After the expose, TechTV filmed an apology and promised to sort out the editorial workflow to be more trustworthy and accountable. It'd be much tougher than they anticipated, as a former employee accused them of workplace abuses and possible sexual harassment soon after the apology, both of which were ignored after numerous complaints.

This was inspired by MocksTV, a fellow creator on DeviantArt that styles current events in retro TV aesthetic. This was done in response to Linus Tech Tips' multiple controversies last year, which set the events inside the late TechTV.
