I'd just finished Mineko Iwasaki's beautiful book 'Geisha of Gion' and needed to draw something. Using the book's front cover as a reference, I did this in about two hours. I think it's rather pretty, though I'm not entirely happy with it.

I'd have to agree with you. This IS really pretty. I absolutely love the colors.

I think geisha women are absolutely beautiful. The brush strokes you use really remind me of Japanese ink art, which makes me happy. It's such a unique style, not many people use it. The black framing effect you used really makes this image even better.
