Shouya's lack of concentration and tendency to disconnect from reality is a huge weakness on the battlefield. His attention must frequently be redirected by his siblings to the task at hand. This is what is stopping him from becoming the greatest ninja in Suna. Shouya © 2019 SabakuKyuut777

I love Shouya's design! Additionally, it sounds like they would struggle with Genjutsu, and I wonder how they would work to get around it.

@lua0: Thank you sm! Genjutsu is definitely his weak spot but his ninjutsu and taijutsu is just fine. I imagine that he learns the required techniques but only uses them if he really needs to, since yeah it's not his strong suit. I suppose Shouya's genjutsu would be kinda like Gaara's taijutsu xD

@lua0: As for being under the influence of a genjutsu, he already struggles to recincile his own his fantasy world with reality, so chances are he would not recognize a genjutsu if he was caught in one, again very dangerous. He'll get better at this once he learns how to grieve properly rather than live in denial.

Compared to Gaara that's an interesting pick for them in a weakness, and how you worked it into a character development later. I never thought about how Genjutsu could be even more dangerous in those aspects. (Though I wish I saw more genjutsu in the source material as well)

@lua0: thank you! It would be cool to see more genjutsu techniques. I actually love Itachi for what he brought in that aspect.

@marven4lyf: Same! I liked a lot of Itachi's jutsu in general too.
