Despite being acquired by Granada in the mid-90s, ABC retained much of their creativity for their on-screen presentation, just to appear they are different entities (unlike the other guys).

This promo was one of them, featuring a dangling shield symbol surrounding by a bunch of genre names that the station was good at. With the background compared to that of Radio Rentals ads, it wasn't very well received, though the dangling symbol persisted for Christmas.
