Bald Eagle
Bald Eagle by @denise (Denise Chan)

From a photo. Not much more than a coloured sketch, really....ummm...

...for once, I have completely nothing to say about a picture.

Painter Classic, about 30-40 minutes.

Oh, this is really lovely! Great texture on the feathers and gleam in the eye. Good job.

Dude. Eagles ALWAYS need reference. They're tricky birds to draw. Tisweird.

I think it's the evil beaks. And those bushy eyebrows. :D

One day I shall draw convincing eagles without reference! >:| <-- determined face

:D Wow... I gotta figure out where those tools are that you've used (in the feathers, the background blue wash)... 'Cause they look so smooth 'n pretty!

Love for the eagles. <3

Thankies! It's watercolors - I used the plain 'Large/Medium/Small Watercolor' brushes for the bird, and various wet-in-wet/blending watercolors for the rest. And a bit of airbrush in the eye.

Watercolors are cool - I always thought they were useless when painting digitally, but it turns out that they blend beautifully! :3
