The Veteran is just that; he was a Stratikion, a soldier of the Free Republic of the East. He's fought in campaigns against the Kingdom of Lykon, against Shammarin tribes Southwards into the Saleb peninsula and has even fought against Sargari bandits in the rural areas North of Penkilos.

He is an Eym man from a Taanist family; but he understands the tenants of Taanism better than most. For all he now has in this life are his skills, his experience and his merit.

He makes a living doing whatever jobs pay; whether it be laboring on construction sites, working on farms or putting those skills he learned in the army to use as hired muscle.

Home has changed, but the struggle stays the same.
