XD But then the question is still what happened to him? can't remember if she'd figured out a backstory. And hopefully he will wake up in time! He is very unconscious, I know that much. o.o Originally I was supposed to put a heart monitor in there, but it ended up not working out. XD;

I've seen so many interpretations of Mai's hair over the years, and this is far from the most abstract...I don't think she looks "too odd" at all. XD Actually, I really like the depth you've given the front of her hair, especially the bit that hangs on her forehead. And you remembered her earrings~! The earrings gets left out of so many fanarts.
I say this on all your picture, but I really do love the expressions...especially Mai's, with the way she's gazing forlornly over at Jounouchi while Shizuka clings to her. Poor Shizuka, she looks so miserable. ;_; Her brother ends up dead/almost-dead/soulless all the time.
Reason so few characters from the Duel Monsters series are in the spin-offs? MOST OF THEM ARE STILL IN THERAPY/Jou's eerily quiet expression is a nice contrast.I really like the texture on Shizuka's hair, here, especially at the bottom...and I "awww"'d a little over her flared jeans. I want to draw Shizuka in bellbottoms, now. XD
