Ahem. u.u Guess whose birthday it is today. If you guessed 'the fantastically wonderful Bast,' then treat yourself to a cookie. Because it is indeed the sixteenth anniversary of a day that will someday be remembered as the birthday of a world-renowned star of stage and screen--BASTY THE GREAT! And all will worship her and know that she is good. Yes.

For this anime songpic b-day present I decided to do something completely different and not draw in Naoko Takeuchi's style. Instead, I've drawn in CLAMP's 'Magic Knight Rayearth' style, otherwise known as 'the kind with the big cool eyelashes.' I thought it'd make a more dynamic, bold image, which is super appropriate for Bastish. =D

So here's the awesome Bast Kaalae in her Castle incarnation as an entertainer and master of the arts of magic and illusion. ^.^ She rawks. I drew both her Castle outfits, the older one and the newer one (in center). She's got a big cloak she's used for vanishing acts in the left pic, she's magically stolen Red's sword in the middle (yep, she's done that. It was cool and eventually led to a jousting match.), and she's doing her 'pull the daggers from the AIR trick at right. Ish so happy. And the song is 'Marry Me' by No Doubt, by the way. That was one of the songs that Basty recommended to me when I asked her what her theme song was. =B It had nothing whatsoever to do with the pic until I did the background. See, cuz magic acts often include a thing where there's rings interlocked with each other and then the magician does the thing of getting them separate and stufff...I'm not making sense. But I did rings but they're wedding rings. u.u; And cards at the top for card tricks but it's the Queen of Hearts! Get it?! Eeheehee...okay, I'm done.
