Awww...beautiful and sad ;; Out of all those "horror" genre creatures, Vampires have always been pretty low on my list of favorites, but this picture makes me feel sorry for 'im. ee I lovve the colors, and how the rose just stands out. Le saaad.
Kiss from a Rose on the Grey by @Manuela (Manuela Hoflehner)
I was a bit sick of all those beautiful vampires swirling around in the world of Fantasy. I mean, vampires do come from the Horror genre, but you wouldn't really know it. They are all so handsome that you won't be frightened a bit. And honestly, if you've been living for centuries you would show some signs of weariness, seeing how all your human friends pass away. So it -tried- to paint some vampire who is tired and looks like it. But I didn't succeed that much. Ah well, another beautiful vampire.
He'd been living for centuries, seeing ages come and go. To him, the few years that she had lived were only a heartbeat. She loved him, despite what he was. A vampire, existing through the blood of her kind. Never had he given her anything. Still, she had been there, always, devoting her life to him. And he knew, one day she would fall because of him. Because of the craving inside of him. And he knew that she knew, too. Nevertheless, she stayed.

I've never been into vampires that much, either. But at the moment I just can't pick up any Fantasy book any more, so I bought a few Anne Rice novels (though I don't like her style that much, but I don't know any other author who writes vampire tales) to get a taste of something new.
(applaud) Love love love the pseudo-realism - and you got emotion down. He really looks like he's going to blink tears out of his eye if you look at the picture long enough, and I love what you've done with the mouth.
I also like the black-and-white (except for the rose) composition. I'd say more, but I can't quite nail down my feelings on this. Just, beautiful piece. :)
