Hmm... I work best at this size
Hmm... I work best at this size by @WhisperPntr (Moon Wang)

I have tons of other pictures that are about twice as large as this picture, worked twice as long but never got the right look for it. I'm thinking I work best at this size and maybe later on I should work on the details. Anyways, just a retouch of an old piece. Fixed the head, made a background... may add more when it calls for my attention again.

Whoo! Loooovely iridescent effects on the mane, it really has this glowing sensation. I also love the eye and tears.

Some nits: The horn doesn't look like a natural horn. Something about it seems too perfect, not organic enough--perhaps it's too straight and regular? Anyway, I think looking at google pics of other kinds of horns might help make it less...you know. Like that.

Secondly, something about the mouth doesn't work for me. The eye is full of emotion, but the mouth seems ind of weak. I'm not entirely sure what I'd do there, unless it would be to perhaps eliminate the mouth, and let the eye carry the expression entirely (which I think it could do).

Thirdly and forthly: I miiiight? Consider taking out that star-shine on the horn, 'just 'cos it LOOKS like a starshine... And finally, mebbe darken the background up some--to really let this guy SHINE--like hope in the midst of despair.

OK. That was longwinded.

I'm glad to see this piece reworked!

Athena, while I appreciate your thorough C&C please note that I wasn't expecting such detail in mind.

I never explained this to anyone but Side7 is my private psuedo public haven from the critique I receive elsewhere. I don't expect shining reviews nor in depth criticism about my art. But I expect some sort of in-depth invulnerability when I am on here.

Hope you understand where I'm coming from. thank you.

Beautiful! I love how the unicorn is glowing! The background adds a lot to the picture. Wonderful job! ^_^

WOW. This is soooo good!! Bloody hell - I'd buy this if I ever saw it for sale, lol. ^-^ I love everything about it, especially the tears running down his cheek - very beautiful! He looks so sad and lonely ... it kinda feels like he's all alone ... hehe, I dunno, I don't have the words to describe it. Please draw more of him!!
