It's fun to know a fellow fan - and one who got hooked on the anime before realizing how lame it is. ^_^ Nice art, I can certainly see the Minekura influence, and I like the simple concept that nevertheless puts a different spin on the character. The grass in the background looks a little incongruous compared to your actual drawing; actually drawing the grass, time-consuming though I know it is, might have made it look more natural. Still, nicely done. I like the framing of this picture.
:) Thanks much. I'll still watch the anime, though more often it'll be just for some background noise and something to giggle over every now and again. The manga is absolutely fantastic and...godly in comparison (and the OVA for the Burial Arc looks amazing, too- the movie was pretty good, I thought, as well-- though more or less, I'm pretty sure that Dougan was the male equivalent to a Mary Sue...scary).
^^; I realize how the brush tool for the grass offsets the rest of the picture. I really should have taken the time to do it by hand, it wouldn't have come out looking unnatural or hurried that way. (I've learned my lesson since doing this picture, however. I draw grass by hand now :D even if it is time consuming...).
Thank you much for stopping by and commenting! And hooray! Another Saiyuki fan!
