Ashitaka & San
Ashitaka & San by @Morning (Anne Goodfellow)

I'm trying to learn to draw the characters in Princess Mononoke and this is a practice piccie of San and Ashitaka. Ashitaka is hardly recognisable though. I'm also practicing with a different style of shading. San turned out ok but I'm seriously going to have to work on both of them...

The scary thing is that Ashitaka and San are the only anime couple I've ever found myself supporting. I only saw the film the other day and already I'm considering writing a fic about it. Chicken farms rule!

Excellent and original image of San and Ashitaka. Most fanart that I've seen from this film are just re-dos of known scenes. The shading and colors are accurate and beautiful. San's necklace seems to be blowing slightly in an unseen breeze. Ashitaka's right eye seems a bit small, making his glance seem slightly sinister. The shadow across his nose is good though. For the pose that they are in, the light reflection on San's earring is off. Aside from these aspects, it's a lovely image. Good job!
