I kinda’ like the idea that the snakes that make up a gorgon’s hair have minds of their own. They’re not just snake-like appendages growing for her head but a gaggle of pets. They feed her extra info about her surroundings and offer protection while still being a part of her to an extent. This allows her to literally tease her hair like one would a pet snake. = )
