Alicorn
Alicorn by @lynne (Lynne)

I've had this unicorn drawn for a while, and just decided to color it.. and it has a background! I'm doing better putting backgrounds in.. this one I drew from scratch in MS image composer. But I made it work anyway. u.u

I like how this turned out.. I love unicorns. ^.^ And yeah I named the title after a unicorn's horn.. oh well 9.9; This is kind of my mental image of a unicorn (not like my character Pine, who is more horse-like than a real unicorn). You know, I do believe that unicorns and llamas are either distantly related, or llamas were some of the animal friends of unicorns, like deer and peacocks. If you've ever met llamas you'll see what I mean.. it's their personality though you can see a teeny resemblance physically. Artwork © Copyright 2002 Lynne Stephenson

And yes, I've always loved unicorns, too. suddenly remembers a random fact about her childhood Heeey...hehe! The first book I ever learned to read was about a unicorn. I think I read nothing but that one book for five months...o.o

Hmm...that was a random fact.

Heehee it's beautiful Lynne. Does look a bit llama-ey, though it seems more on the Alpaca side to me. I loveses it though! =D!

Beautiful!! My only comment is that "alicorn" means winged unicorn. Just as an alicentaur is a winged centaur. The title confused me in that manner....

Yes, that's the common meaning nowadays. I'm not sure who came up with it to mean that.. but originally, in legend dating back to medieval times, the horn of the unicorn was called the alicorn. You look it up in any unicorn history book, that's what they call it.
