Never
Never by @Jinx (Catherine Fitzsimmons)

Even when everything seems hopeless, when he's surrounded by darkness, when he's about to lose it all, even though he knows that no matter what he does, innocent people will still suffer needlessly, he still fights on with all his strength.

This is a really nice image, I like it a lot. The blood on his cheek could be a little more realistic, but other than that, I have no criticism to give. You are very talented when it comes to drawing manga.

Thanks for your comment. How would you suggest the blood be improved?

It looks flat right now, it needs different values of red and maybe some white highlights to make it appear 3D.

Darn, Jinx, your muse is in total overdrive lately! You keep putting out these awesome images! I really love the intense expression on his face--you did a very, very excellent job on the eyes. You can see the passion, determination, and pain very clearly! The pose is very good too--I love the tilt of the hilt of his sword. Awesome!

I would add more shiny shading to the blood, to make it more realistic. Perhaps also make the edges 'harder?' Oh, and white highlights for the sword to emphasize the differences in textures--right now everything is shaded a little softly. Changing the 'hardness' of the edges of shading can show the differences in the textures of different items, like the hair compared to the skin, etc. So that is my advice.

You rock.

Thanks as always for the comment. grin It's a shame none of the pictures I've been working on have shown up here yet. Those visiting my gallery have no idea...

Anyway, thanks for your critiques, greatly appreciated. I'm adding shine to the blood as I type this (well, not right as I type this, but you get the idea) and I'll try the highlights on the sword and hope they work. As for the shading, I was trying to go for a softer, more painterly look in this picture, and more subdued colors in general. Unfortunately, the dark background worked best with it, which threw the rest of it out of order. Just the way things go, eh?

Thanks again for the comment!

The blood looks a lot cooler with the highlighting! You could still go whiter on the sword, but it kind of fits the way it is now with the darker background. You kick bootay. :)

Well, I like this drawing, especially the eyes, i wish i could draw eyes like that. All that needs to be said about this pic has already been said, so all i have to say, is thank you for posting such good stuff...... In the words of Wayne and Garth, "I'm not Worthy!!!!" also, i'm sorry about asking you to check out my work, it turns out, i accidentilly forgot to read some of the rules of the sight, and violated them, lol. So i had to delete my drawings. However, i have a one that is done, and one in progress which will be on soon. Once again, thanks for letting all of us here view your stuff.

Sincerely, Ikaika
