Well, this image strayed a bit off course, but I couldn't get the water and clouds to look right, so instead I took the semi-abstract route and made judicious use of Photoshop filters. Yay for cheating 'cause I suck at doing art.

JINX! YOU DO NOT SUCK! ::whacks Jinx over the head with the Bashing Stick of Confidence (TM):: That said, you really pulled this piece together! I really like the sillhoutte idea, and the golden light is really beautiful. I like how you made it blur the edges around them slightly, it shows that light isn't just a solid object--it rounds around them. I think the filters give it an embossed look, like gold foil was hammered all over the picture. It's really beautiful! I think it turned out great, and see no reason why you shouldn't be proud of this piece. :)

Wow, this really does look like it could be a cut out from a piece of gold foil, or some metal. I've done some artwork with metal, and this is much better than anything i've done, but it truly does look like it's hammered. It's very beautiful. lol, you should try to do a metal cutout of this, i would like to see that :P Great job.

Oh how gorgeous! And, actually, I think the semi-abstract clouds and water look great! They kind of give the picture an ethereal feel, which really adds to the emotion of the piece. ^^ And the silhouette idea is very romantic. ;D Nice work! applauds

This looks really beautiful. Their silhouettes were perfectly rendered - They have a very nice form and a wonderful outline of anatany, and the way there's a little light around the edges keeps their form from falling too flat.

The way the viewer can see their arms wrapped around each other looks very tender and romantic, and the loose strands of hair add a very subtle sense of motion in the piece.

The background looks quite good, too. The warm, golden tones look perfect for a sunset at the beach, and the reflection of the sun in water looks perfect. The liquidy filter in the background gives it a very cool texture, especially against the smooth look of their figures, but it does look a little weird in the clouds.

They seem to have a very 3-dimensional look, like they're popping out of the sky rather than a being a part of it. Maybe if some of the darks were lightened just a bit it'd look more natural.

All in all, this piece looks great. There's a nice use of color and light in this piece, and there's definitely a beautiful, romantic atmosphere. Keep up the great work, and don't let yourself get discouraged! :)

Good old photoshop fliters. They've saved my life many times.

I think it looks great. The fact that's so abstract in the background really makes them pop out. Great feeling to this piece
