Cuddly Chaos Angel
Cuddly Chaos Angel by @Jansu (Brandon Ballenger)

My second figure. I post this because I thought I was more successful with the soft-looking hands than I was in Red's gift. And the pose isn't half bad either.

The idea came from when a few friends and I were playing around with name generators and I ended up with "Cuddly Chaos Angel", and I tried to make myself look like one. It's not a terrible approximation, I guess.

The wings are actually feathers which I scanned, smoothed, and changed the color of. I couldn't really decide what color a chaotic angel's wings should be, so I ended up with a blue -> pinkish red flow, since that seemed suitably abnormal.

Go ahead, give him a huuuuuug.

Yeah, I can definitely see the improvement here from the picture you did for Red... Maybe it's because men's hands are thicker and probably easier to render in this way? Well, whatever the reason, the hands look good, the pose is perfect for someone "cuddly", and the expression is definitely you, LOL... Neat effects on the wings--I wouldn't have expected that they were actually feathers you scanned if you didn't say that's what they were... I think some of the pink from the left wing got on his hand, though... ^^;;;;

~huuuuuuugs the Cuddly Chaos Angel~ I guess this means I should do that Cuteness Finder, huh? ^^;;

That's a good point, I guess I had the wings on a higher layer and didn't notice. Now that I look it runs over the robe on his right side as well.

Yeeeeees, it does. Get to work. ^_^ And thanks for the comment, dear.

Awwww! ~huuuuugs~

This image screams cute -- CCA just wants a hug, but he seems a little scared of getting crushed or something. I love it, the facial expression is priceless. Pretty soon you might be giving Nadia a run for her money when it comes to making coot pictures.

The feathers were a great idea for wings. They look really nifty, and the pinkish color looks great against CCA's green robe. I think the best part of your drawing is the hair, and I congratulate you on attempting a foreshortened pose so early in your figure drawing practice. Heh, you're really inspiring me to try more challenging poses & stuff, not to mention get off my bum and work. Well done, Janus! ~gives Cuddly Chaos Angel another hug, 'cause he deserves it~

And I guess this means I need to draw Infinity Pixie....^^;;;

Ho ho, I doubt I'll ever match Nadia in that department, but thank you.

With the pose, I figure I might as well try for whatever I want and go with it. In ways, being a beginner is less restrictive than having experience; I feel I'm more willing to try things, however they fall out, I don't have any standards for myself to compare against and say "This looks horrible and I should stick with what I know". I hope I don't lose that along the way, or everything I do will just get repititive eventually. ^^;;

Yes, you do! :D
