Kind of an appreciation thread here. Although spam is spam and scams are scams, you have to admit, sometimes the things they're advertising aren't that bad. There's one currently in the DeviantArt forums at https://www.deviantart.com/forum/devart/general/2701072/ for teak root wood furniture for example. I wouldn't mind buying a few tables and chairs over the internet, if only it wasn't from some dubious provider.

So how about you? What's actually your favorite thing some spammer advertised in the forums there (I'd ask for your favorite spam item from here, except this place doesn't get a lot of spam)?

It wasn't on dA forums I don't think, but I remember seeing A LOT of ads on dA for things like furniture and other housewares. I always found it interesting to see amish ads there lol.

This was also before tracking was a huge thing, so not knowing what you'd see was always a game of Russian Roulette

That would be a definite first sign it's a scam lol. Unless it was a more liberal Amish group.

DeviantArt is the kind of place that would snap an Amish person out of their Rumspringa.

I saw "medicinal blow up dolls" once, some Indian link. But what's funnier is people mistook it for artwork and gave it critique. Apparently this is a social "excuse" for men there when bringing a doll home in front of their wife

The last thing I remember spammers selling to people are these weed gummies I think. (It’s been a long while since I visited DA’s forums tbh)

Same here tbh. I’m frankly hoping DA’s forums get removed, as much as I hate to say that.

one of the reasons you want Deviantart forums to get removed was: it's "politics" forum are worse than even 4Chan's /pol/ board?

DA forums are like FurAffinity's forums. You can only go there to /get/ drama and may be a couple of likes, but the sheer amount of people just after their own exposure just means you end up looking at their art more than they will yours. Even worse now with AI.

I mainly just want the Politics section removed and the general forum removed too, since there’s already a deviants section on there. But I frankly want all of the DA forums removed, people just insult and screech at each other on there and I won’t check there again, and it makes me hate people more tbh. (Side7’s forum is better anyways to me now.)
