Biography

Hi out there to everyone who has somehow stumbled on to my gallery here at side7. As you may or may not know, my name is Jessica Deprez. I’m 18 years old now, and therefore mostly legal. (But watch out! I’m an Aries through and through). I like anime, cartoons, parodies, satires. H*Beeeeeep* ll, anything that can make me laugh, actually.
There really isn’t much for me to say about myself. I’m not usually one of those people who goes around tooting their own horn about how I’m great at this or that. My friends and family say I’m pretty good at computer graphics, so I still with that. I’ve done some freelance type jobs in my hometown.. but the most I’ve gotten out of it is ten bucks. Wahoo. ~.^
Once summer comes, I’m heading out to live in the sunny state of California. As Al Jolson best puts it: “California, Here I come. Open up your Golden Gate, California here I come!” Sorry, I’m a real music buff. I won’t know the titles of songs, or the artists. But once I heard a few lines on the radio, I’m singing along with the song just like it’s my theme song. I have yet to find the ‘perfect’ theme song for myself. Anyone have some suggestions?
Getting back to what I was talking about a few sentences up there, I’m heading to California. I’ll be living with my brother for a while in his new house. I’m rejoicing actually, because I’ll have a room with a door-- a luxury I’ve never had growing up (I have/had the standard curtain since I got my own room). I know it won’t be easy, I understand that if I want my dreams to come true, I’m going to have to work really hard at accomplishing them. And yes, I am prepared to walk through mud, feel the cold winds of winter, the hot rays of summer, and the feeling that your heart has been torn from your chest if it means I’ll be a just a little closer to my dreams. I’ve got a lot of dreams, but the most realistic one is to be a professional Graphic Artist in new media. This is what I’m working my hardest at to accomplish. I intend to go to the San Fransisco Academy of Art--a very expensive private college. Since it is so expensive I’ll be working my a*beeeeeeeeeep*s off to get some money to pay for 2 classes--therefore considered a part time student.
I know that if you want to make your dream come true. Do what you really want to do, you have to walk a very windy path. Don’t do what Robert Frost did. Don’t take that road less traveled by. Don’t settle for a road anyone has traveled on at all. Instead, plow right down the middle. Feel the soft hand of normality, security, and the harsh slap of hard work, reality. Make your dreams come true.. That’s the probably the biggest thing I can, or will, ever preach in my whole life. I’ve slacked on my dreams, and now I am paying for all the consequences that come with such a thing.

Hmm.. Perhaps I should get back to a lighter note. Well, I plan to work on web sites more and more. I’ve self taught myself most of the things I’ve done on the computer. Unfortunately that also includes typing. So excuse my many typos, for there are usually so many that I can’t control them all, or get too frustrated with them to actually go back and fix them :p .

I really like music, as I’ve stated before. Some of the bands I like are: Silverchair, Staind, Nine Inch Nails, Adiemus, Keiko Matsui, Mariah Carey, Three Doors Down, Gackt, Madonna(80’s), Al Jolson, most musicals, Arrogant Worms, Garbage, Savage Garden, They Might Be Giants, Natalie Imbruglia, Blink 182. I also like others, but those jump from the top of my head. I enjoy pretty much any music but Rap... I hate rap, I hate eminem and all those people like that. You really want to see someone go crazy about rappers, you ask me my opinion on that man and I’ll make the unibomber a two year old playing with tinker toys. heh.. sorry sometimes I have this whole ‘defense mechanism’ ya know?

And here are some lines from some of my more favorite songs:

“So Build me up, Buttercup. Don’t break my heart” --Punk Covers: ‘Build me Up Buttercup’
“If you want a place in the history books, then do something dumb before you die” --Arrogant Worms: ‘History is made by stupid people’
“Don’t you know I’m numb, I can’t feel a thing at all. ‘Cuz it’s all smiles and business these days” --Ben Folds Five: ‘Evaporated’
“YEAH TOAST!”--Bob and Tom: ‘Toast’
“It’s not easy to be me” --Five for Fighting: ‘Superman’
“I don’t pop my cork for every guy I see” -- Fosse ‘Big Spender’
“The World is not enough, but is it such a perfect place to start” --Garbage: ‘The world is not enough’
“I love him, but everyday I’m learning. All my life, I’ve only been pretending! Without me, this world will go on turning. The world is filled with happiness that I have never known” --Le Miserable: ‘On My Own’
“I hear your voice. It’s like an angel sighing.” --Madonna: ‘Like a Prayer’
“Yes, no. Maybe... I don’t know.. Could you repeat the Question?” --They Might Be Giants: ‘Boss of me’
“Who’s goin’ next, I’m dyin’ to see! Spin the bottle baby and give it to me!” --Twizted: ‘Spin the Bottle’
“Til’ the sun starts to cry. And the moon turns to rust. I will love you” --Fischer: ‘I Will Love You’
“You’ll feel the fog as I cloud your mind. You’ll get dizzy when I make you sign. You’ll wake up in the dead of night, missing me when I’m out of sight!” --Hex Girls: ‘Hex girl’ (I know they aren’t a real band.. but that’s the band they were called in the scooby movie so nyah!)
“Fly me to the moon, and let me play among the stars. Won’t you let me see what Spring is like on Jupiter and Mars? In other words hold my hand. In other words, darling kiss me” --Remake by Unknown: ‘Fly me to the Moon’ (the remake is SO much better than the orig. I should know, I have both)
“Why bleeding is breathing? You’re hiding underneath the smoke in the room.” --Natalie Imbruglia: ‘Smoke’
“Out of the island. Into the highway. past the places where you might have turned. you never did notice, but you still hide away. Anger of angels that won’t return” --Vertical Horizon: ‘Everything you Want’ (I’m sure that’s what the lyrics are...)

and for my ego:
“I am a girl with a mind like a diamond. I am a girl who knows what’s best. I am a girl with shoes that cut, and eyes that burn like cigarettes...... I am a girl with a short skirt and a loooooooooong jacket” --Originally by Cake: ‘Short Skirt, Long Jacket’.
And my moment of shallowness is over. takes a bow
Oh yes, that image down there is a little old. I have shorter hair now winks shoulder length
