Something that usually frustrates me is, whenever I come across religious people and they find out I'm an atheist who also has health issues, they always try to convert me and have only God as only tool of comfort, ignoring completely that I'm an atheist and that I won't change my mind, especially since I used to be a believer. And I'm old enough to have that figured out, since I'm not a kid, I'm a soon to be a middle aged individual.
Is like they are more focused on making me a believer rather than support me in my struggle.
"Life can be hard, but you can always have God!", "Pray, God will do all the work", "Believe me, God exists and he is not what you think he is", "God is love and he cares for you"
I understand most for religious people God is relevant for their lives and a reason of comfort when distressed, but it's so frustrating when they can't be in my place and imagine that some of us can exist without God and, instead we need the support from humans, not a divinity we don't believe in.
Ok, vent over.
