Santa Angela
Santa Angela by @smarle (Staci/Nadia)

I was working on a sketch for Christmas this year, but the software for our new scanner doesn't seem to want to work, so I was unable (and uninspired) to complete this year's picture. I decided to go ahead and put up an older Christmas picture of mine to celebrate the spirit of the holidays anyways!

This was my holiday image from 2001, though I never finished it till after the holidays were over (I've always been slow with my pictures... ^^;;;;). It's Angela from Seiken Densetsu 3 once again, but this time in a Santa outfit with a sack of presents... The dress was actually from an earlier Angela picture I made that isn't up at Side7, and I added the Santa hat (with her normal crown on top of it) to make it more Christmas-y. And yes, I realize her pose is going to make the back of the dress stick up, but that was kind of done on purpose (it fits the character)... ^^;;;;;

In all honesty, I hate this picture... ^^;;; There are SO many mistakes in it... Her eyes aren't in the right place nor do they focus well, the folds and shading of her dress don't look right, and I don't like how her hair coloring came out... However, some of the other mistakes were able to be concealed by the falling snow... ^^;;; Thank goodness for winter! However, I do like how the sack and her gloves and boots came out, and colors are pretty bright and cheerful. Despite all the problems with this pic, please enjoy this bit of holiday greetings! :D Happy Holidays, everyone!

Ah, I remember this one. You and your Angelas, Nadia...

I agree about the gloves, I think they're the best part of the picture. The hair's really not all that bad, I think it's the shading on the dress that looks weird. But overall it still looks just fine, and I'd love to see more holiday Angela. Maybe with a...gasp...holiday rabi in it...;)

Gee, I'd almost think you thought I drew a lot of Angelas, LOL... ;)

Well, the hair colors are nice, I think... Just the shading and highlights themselves look odd... I used too thick a brush... ^^;;; With the dress, I think I was trying to make fewer drawn-in lines with the shading, but I should've still put in lines for where the puffy dress bulges... ^^;;;; Might've made more sense that way... ^^;;;

Hmmmm, holiday rabis, eeeeeeeeeeeeh? ;) ~hugs rabis~ Holiday pictures are fun to draw! :D

This is probably one of the first times that Angela has been wearing so much clothing at once. ^_~

Regardless, it's a very nice picture! I understand what you mean about the eyes and whatnot, but I really think that the dress and the accessories help make the picture wonderful. That and the fact that, despite what you say about the coloring, that it still came out really well! And the snow effect? Concealing mistakes? Actually, I just think that it really enhances the picture, that's all. I don't see how it's hiding any particular mistakes!

You did a great job, Nadia! Happy belated holidays! ;)

Hey, I can't imagine someone running through a massive snowfield in just a leotard! ^^;;;

Wow, I must've done a really good job concealing some mistakes with the snow! ;) But, yeah, I would've had lots of snow in the picture, mistakes or not. I love CGing snow!

Happy everything! :D
