Stained Glass
Stained Glass by @jeaney1 (Sara Timmons)

This was originally done for a commission. I used coloured pencils on it.

The paper size is larger then a normal sheet of paper but I dont remember the dementions >.<

Anyways, it's the first time I'd ever done feathery wings like that, and I really like the stylized look of the feathers. I took lots of time to sketch it and complete it. I made a painted version of it, but I don't think it's as well done, and I'm also working on a computer version of it. The feather's are a pain in the butt. ^_^

Anyways let me know what you think and what can be improved.

This is a beautiful image! The feathers are very well done--I am amazed at the details you put into them. I am also impressed with the idea behind the pose--so rarely do people draw figures without their faces showing.

What is confusing about this image is whether or not the angel is actually part of the stained glass or not--if she is, she needs to blend into it more, but if she's not, which really seems to be more the case, she needs to stand out some more. I would use pure white highlights around the edges of where she's supposed to stand out, or a firmer lineart. I'm not too good at realism, tho, if that is what you're aiming for, I'd ask someone else. :)

Also, you could have more fun with the lighting in this piece. If the angel is standing in front of the stained glass, you could give the light a blue tint, as it comes in from the windows. That would be awesome.

Either way, good luck on all the versions of this picture--it's very nicely done and I'll look forward to seeing it again.
