I think this is the weakest of your three designs. It has a lot of potential, though.
You've got some villainous vibes going on (the eyes, mainly), but nothing's "pushed" far enough--he could be the hero's best friend with this face.
Feel free to really NARROW the eyes, give him an ANGRY expression, a grim mouth. Make the chin a little angular, the hair a little wilder...then, if that's too much, tone it back down. But at the moment, he doesn't really look the part it seems you want him to play.
