LittlePrayer-Halo The Motion Picture-Nebula Custos by @XxTheCreativeKitsunexX (XxTheCreativeKitsunexX)

Dream Tracks 2024- Hot on the heels of Mega-man is another video game series to get the movie treatment.

Halo has long been a favorite series of mine even for someone who prefers playstation over xbox and has led me to make music for the series on a few occasions, this time however I decided I wanted to go all in with a cinematic track that could easily be found in a movie adaptation. I wanted to keep in the style of Martin O'Donell and Micheal Salvatori with this one keeping the unique percussion and gregorian style choir halo has become famous for using in its music.

Music from beginning of track up till 4:35 is composed and Preformed and is ©2024 James Delorey J.Delorey Productions Sword Dancer Studio Canada LTD. Halo is © 343 Studios and Microsoft Game Studios All Rights Reserved on the music from beginning of track up till 4:35. This track is not Licensed sponsored or endorsed by 343 Studios or Microsoft. Original Halo theme by Martin O'Donell and Micheal Salvatori

I admit, my direct experience with the Halo franchise begins and ends at LAN party deathmatches, so literally the only track I know is the title theme. :B That said, I can definitely see it as a movie score: the first half in particular has an ironically meditative quality one wouldn't typically associate with an FPS, let alone one of the bedrock sci-fi shooters.

Also thank you for reminding me I need to plug this video to a friend. :p

@Thorvald: Halo is very distinct even being an FPS and its why so many companies have tried to capture that lightening in a bottle with the Science fiction military aspect Halo is known for. Thing is thanks to many different things such as the weapons, story settings, main character and music, Halo stands on its own amongst all the sci fi genre FPS games ever to come out. I had my first taste of halo when it first came out and everyone was raving about how good it was, now I have been and always will be a Sony Playstation guy unless they do something incredibly boneheaded to make me walk away which has almost happened many times over by now but for me to jump from PS to Xbox to taste what xbox gamers were ranting about over playstation even I have to agree the hype was very real. Halo was a serious sci fi shooter the likes which has yet to be seen again, while it has fallen from grace in the eyes of gamers I still find myself switching on my xbox one S and throwing in Masterchief collection to get my fix of Halo along with trying to beat the single player campaign for Infinite which has been a most enjoyable experience.

@XxTheCreativeKitsunexX: I haven't been able to find it, but a friend told me about a piece a couple years ago discussing how Halo was the first "story-driven" FPS: Doom and its ilk were dungeon crawlers, Half-Life has a plot but it sort of lingers in the background, technically OFP went gold first but its cinematics are nowhere near as refined. Halo threads the action through the story in a way that raised the bar for the genre. I haven't seen the official media but it certainly seems a smooth fit for feature film adaptation.

Unrelated but reading up on the production history, there's something wryly amusing in MassiveSoft snatching Bungie out from Apple. :P

@Thorvald: Halo being the first I don't think is right as the first Medal of Honor 1999 came out long before Halo 2001 and featured a story driven campaign. Halo was the first to my knowledge in making a sci fi series without the name star wars or star trek attached to it into a household main stream name people could identify with. Halo was also the first to make multiplayer online a thing for console players and a first to make a horde mode which more companies copied. Operation Flashpoint 2001 was still preceded by Medal of Honor but followed the same concept set by MoH. Still one thing Halo has that no other game can boast is the music, atmosphere, mechanics and combat feel Halo is famous for and many have tried, yes even Sony tried to make something akin to halo with Killzone and while the games were good...they were not even close to what Halo offered. this coming from a Sony user Halo sadly has not seen another entry to the series and the Infinite game being shunned makes me wonder if there will be any other games in the series in the foreseeable future.
