Sleeping Scope
Sleeping Scope by @Mel (Melanie Smits)

This is Scope, my first ever furry character. He's originally from a story I will never write, the basic setting was a world with a war between humans and furries, and Scope was the leader of the furry resistance in a particular area. This was drawn with a pencil and colored with OpenCanvas

Heh, and that sounded like an interesting story, too! He's a cool character--I definetly like his design. The pose you have him in here, makes him look more like he's sitting up on one elbow than sleeping--I think this would be fixed or offset if there were more lines to show where his pillow was. But here, it's kind of like he's dozing, so I like that effect too... Other suggestions I might make would be to use your dark lines more on the inside of the body--you outline everything, but sometimes lines used as details for fur or muscle tones add a lot, you know? I really am impressed with your shading and coloring--the way you did his markings on this are exceptionally impressive. So I'm really looking forward to seeing lots more of your work! (BTW--I'm Li-chan on the message board)

Hehe, he's just really really tired (stressful job) and fell asleep like this. Someone in my class fell asleep leaning on his arm like this, and while sitting in a chair at the same time - while at school. They'd had an all-night party the day before and they hadn't slept... The teacher didn't even notice. :D Anyway, thanks a lot for your helpful comment! I'll be sure to remember the part about the lines.

Thanks a lot for commenting! ^^ I don't really remember why I didn't like the story anymore, probably because I was afraid to turn it into too much of a social commentary-type...thing. Oo I don't know, maybe I'll start writing it again. Everyone's saying it sounds interesting, so why not. ^_^;;
