Sylphid Knight Brise by @fragmented_imagination (B Sanders)
"Cloaked in green during a gold autumn evening, Reading the winds and tasting the clouds, Does the young woman sit in the bend of a tree, Wingling ears twitching and sword perched at rest"
A piece I've been working on for a couple days, neglected for a week while getting some writing ideas out of the way, and only finished recently. Brise, French for (obviously enough) breeze, is an example of a hierarchical system among the Sylvestris wind elementals in my work "The Sylph". She is directly under the royal knights, represented by her green jacket and skirt. The character and shading came out quite lovely, some of the better work I've done. My major disappointment is that left leg of hers, bent at a bit of a strange, outward angle and the hem of her trousers concave. It had been a while since I'd drawn what was supposed to look like a young woman, so her proportions are a bit on the long side. Although, I suppose you could argue that since she's a wind elemental and not a real human, the proportions of a "normal" wind elemental would be considerably different. The background was not so much of a disappointment as it usually is with me. The tree, promising at first, turned out @#*! because of the horrid job I'd done trying to give it texture. It's hard to say what I was going for when I drew the ground, possibly the piling of thousands of torn leaves. The pile around the base of the tree was something I'd never done before. It might look better with a proper background.
Wow! It looks amazing! Keep up the good work! I love the eyes!
