9. Sacrifice
9. Sacrifice by @NosaneTryhard (Nosane Tryhard)

Uhhh...

So it's good thing that I really enjoy drawing thosesince lately it is getting more harder and harder. Even when I try to do something more upbeat side from goretober, I struggle since yeah, I seem to be getting into burndown.

It ain't just because I am drawing same character over and over but the thing is... I am drawing images of my favourite Final Fantasy character being in pain and as I perviously said, week has passed and it is starting to have an effect on me. Imma not sure if I can explain it, be I feel like this might be because in order to artisticly portray an emotion, the artist needs to feel the same emotion...

Repeating my earlier comment, I can't but respect anyone who has the stomach to do this stuff and who isn't like, a psychopath or making spur-of-the-moment vent art. I can barely stomach looking at some of these, so I can't even imagine drawing it. Making torture porn of someone you likeand it's triggering a sympathetic reflex? I can understand why you bailed last year.

On a somewhat more positive note, the face here strongly reminds me of a character by an artist I was following since before I really had an Internet presence. Rather fittingly for the day's theme, he also made the ultimate sacrifice—though unlike Sephtober, he's only died once. :B

This was my reaction while reading Junji Ito's work and, even tho I don't particulary like his works (nothing against it, it's just not my cup of tea), I need to admit you need to have nerves to draw such detailed body horror. My situation is odd since... I don't even like horror genre if at all. Videogames more or less, but movies and shows... I recently tryed to get into Alien franshize and I gave up from it within few days. Tho yes, to be a thing with horror artists who just genuenly know how to portray fear and dread... I have nothing against expression without forcing even if the piece is not my thing.

Also, dayum! More lore for me to check out...! SWEET!

Aye, Jakkal was part of my first exposure to webcomics (and the first adult story I'd ever read in the medium), and has been a formative influence on my own writing—I promised her years ago if I ever win the lottery, she gets a full tithe. :B

Speaking of lore, The Realm of Kaerwyn has an interesting timeline: it's an indirect sequel to her first project, Black Tapestries; only Chapter 20 is up on dA, but the original index can be read on ComicGenesis until updates moved to a new site. Fair warning: it goes to some dark places, including AO-grade trauma and one scene that might not be postable here. It's not required reading, but fills in a lot of background only alluded to in Kaerwyn proper, especially concerning Lorelei.

Kaerwyn itself has three distinct development cycles: the comic was originally a one-off advertising the eponymous roleplay community, of which only scraps survive on archive.org; it was rebooted in 2006 with a more cohesive narrative, but both it and BT stalled the next year when personal circumstances kicked Jakkal to the curb. The "Endymion cycle" began in 2013 as a soft reboot reflecting changes in the RP's dynamic during the hiatus.

I don't even like horror genre if at all.
