Stacy and Archimedes by @TheDevilCat (Caitlin Wilt)

A couple of characters from The Weapons of Our War Shadowrun-inspired RPG, this is Stacy and Archimedes. Stacy is the only child of Dr. Myra Northolt, entomologist and creator/designer of Archimedes’ race, the anthromorph variety known as mantids.

Unlike most 8-year-old girls, Stacy loves the gigantic insects, and off all the mantids she befriends, she likes the quiet Archimedes best. Here we find her entertaining the young mantid by sharing her ColOrb, a simple toy that can generate any number of small holograms.

Now, the eyes of a mantid are built for seeing shape, motion, and colour. They cannot make out details very well, so it’s easy to see how the simple light pillar generated by Stacy’s ColOrb is enough to fascinate Archimedes.
