At the beginning, the Dream Emperor really didn't have must purpose in life.....poor Kuroyume......his name means Black Dream so there's an idea of his constant mood for the first fifthteen years of his life.....

He looks very lovely here, got the clothing down right....now I get to have fun writing out the story of his adolescent year when he meets Petit Shinigami......

The poor child didn't know what hit 'em.
