Rainbow Moon
Rainbow Moon by @zenphoenixa (Annabel Lee)
FEATURED CHARACTER: Rainbow Moon, a phoenix

CREATOR: Garnet Cross

MEDIUMS: Derwent watercolour pencils (Rainbow Moon) and Paintshop Pro 5 (background and light effects)

Rainbow Moon is a phoenix with special significance to Garnet Cross, and she was a beautiful phoenix to draw. ^^ After a good long break from rainbows, I went ahead and created another one for this pic to match Rainbow Moon’s name, and this time it wasn’t as hard, thank goodness! =P

In this pic, Rainbow Moon is arcing across the sky, painting a rainbow with her plumage and bringing fair weather. In the clouds are a bunch of air phoenixes who are making their appearance after the storm, and I now charge you all with the task of finding them all! :D I originally put in six, but after a closer look, there could be a seventh which snuck in without me noticing… O___o How on earth did it manage that? If you can find anymore, then let me know! ^^

Arr, and I’m sorry that I misjudged the resizing this time and made the pic smaller than what I usually do for my pics – the full view won’t give a lot away, unfortunately. >< Well, happy phoenix hunting everyone, and remember to look out for the feathery clouds in the sky for an air phoenix near you! ;) (OMG and can you believe it, it’s a short description!!!!!!!) XD XD

My goodness you have an intense way of coloring your art! It's wonderful!! All the details of light reflections and rainbow colors really dazzles me~ @_@

I also love the way her form is moving upside down. It's a beautiful pose for all her feathers to sift through the air. amidst all the lights and mist.

Wonderful!!

Love from CN

Wow! :D Thankyou so much for that in depth comment, I really enjoyed reading your thoughts on this pic! ^_^ I'm pleased you liked the shiny effect, and that you thought the pose was appropriate - I was debating over whether to flip the original image or to rotate it, so now I'm glad I decided to leave it be! ^^ Anyhoo, thankyou for stopping by and stay cool! 8) Offers you pie

I really like the feathers, they look almost fluid.

Groovy, I'm glad you think so! ^_^ Feathers are always fun to draw but they take awhile to colour, and I wore the pencil lead down on this pic a couple of times! ^^;;; Thankyou for the comment dear, I really appreciate it! :D Gives you gummybears

Cool air phoenix design. Could we get a closeup of the phoenix's face? It's a little hard to make out, though It hink I like it. :3

Hi there Athena! ^^ Thankyou for the compliment on the phoenix's design, I sure Rainbow Moon's creator would be glad to know that! ^^ Arr, and the resizing is cruddy, yes! >< I don't have any close back-up files of this pic which would show the phoenix's face because I was an idiot and deleted them... O__o;; coffs Rainbow Moon's face is quite simple though, so there wasn't too much to see anyway. ^^; Thankyou regardless, and always stay cool! 8) Hands you eggs on toast
