Junicorn 2022 #3 - Cold
Junicorn 2022 #3 - Cold by @fragmented_imagination (B Sanders)

"Imperial unicorns have a special place among the cold, perpetually snow-covered plains and mountains all over the continent. Knowledge of their existence is limited mostly to survival stories and rumor. Most tales indicate that imperial unicorns only appear to people lost in blizzards or trapped in ice. One consistency between them is that the imperial unicorns do not necessarily seem to do it out of kindness. Many survivors have described the imperial unicorns they have seen as offended, often receiving the impression that the unicorn is not there to save a life but to simply remove a nuisance from its territory before it becomes a frozen corpse marring the landscape. Just how territorial imperial unicorns can be has never been explored. Imperial unicorns only ever appear to people lost through mishap or circumstance; humans intentionally stranding themselves in the cold are readily ignored, leaving those who want to find them to freeze to death without even hinting at their presence."

I decided I wanted to try a close-up of a unicorn this time rather than a full-body picture. It gave me the opportunity to practice some of my older methods in a short amount of time, and I managed to put together a background with some flair without trying to get lost in the details. So far, this feels like one of my better attempts.
