Augury and Richter
Augury and Richter by @dorowinn (Dorothy Winner)

Oh kay. o.o; I gave them colors, and weird names... their "surnames" were actually supposed to be their original given names. The weird thing was, while I was picking them out, I learned that Kitalpha is the name of a star in the constellation "Equuleus", or Little Horse, and Sadalbari is a star in the constellation "Pegasus", Winged Horse. Freaky. I wasn't even trying, really. o_o

I wish I could have been a leeeetle more creative with Augury's colors (she's supposed to be a golden dun... for some reason I never imagined her with markings or whatnot). I do like how the color pencil turned out, even if my right arm hurts after all that burnishing. Artwork © Copyright 2002 Dorothy Winner

Dorothy I love your art work! The piece was absolutely gorgeous! I wouldn't be to critical on your coloring, I think it turned out great. If it was the texture you're worried about, all art needs texture. If it is the coloring on Augury, don't worry about it. A golden dun on a horse will always vary, especially if it's metallic (golden). But if you don't like it, you may think of lightening the mane, or throwing highlights. The dorsal stripe on a dun will some times make the hair two different colors. Also, you may want to add zebra markings on the knees.

But personally, I think it is a great drawing. If you want some RL examples for colors, feel free to email me.
